Remove liquor ads at airports: Ramadoss

Our Bureau

New Delhi, Oct. 31 The Union Health Minister, Dr Anbumani Ramadoss, has expressed disappointment over the display of alcohol advertisements at airports across the country and has written to the Civil Aviation Minister, Mr Praful Patel, for their removal.

The Minister, in his letter, cited various scientific and technical studies and requested Mr Patel to issue specific instructions to the concerned authorities as advertisements of alcoholic drinks are already legally banned in the electronic and print media.

Meanwhile, the liquor industry sources have termed the move by the Health Minister as “unfortunate” and said the industry is being unfairly segregated.
