Ahmedabad, Jan. 13 Germany-based research & development company Solar Dynasty is looking for partners in India to set up its first manufacturing facility at a project cost of €50 million, according to Mr Wilfried E Schoof, President.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Global Investors’ Summit -Vibrant Gujarat, he told Business Line that the company was looking for a 50:50 partner and he was here to talk to the Gujarat Chief Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, and Reliance for the project. “India is a natural choice for us to begin production from because this is where I learnt Vedic Science which is the basis of all our projects,” he said.

The production of electricity through the magnetic process will reduce the cost of production to a great extent, he said. “The cost of production can be reduced to zero as it is non-fuel generation of electricity, and houses, cars or entire cities can be supplied power without power grids or networks,” he said.

Ranging from 60 KW to four MW , the machine would be priced upwards of €2,000 . The company is also in talks with the Gujarat Government for setting up of a Future Technology Center in the form of a city and an entertainment-cum-education park.

The company focuses on innovative technologies such as intelligent buildings through solar technology, hydrogen power systems, nucleo battery systems and gravity power machines.

Another international organisation that has evinced interest to partner Gujarat in the future is the American Jewish Committees that works closely with Gujaratis in America. Ms Priya Tandon, India Representative, Asia Pacific Institute, was at the summit to invite Mr Modi to welcome a delegation of American Jewish businessmen to explore partnership opportunities.

“I want to bring delegates from Israel to Gujarat to see how they function and see if there is any way in which we can partner the State,” she said.

Around 444 MoUs were signed on the first day and 7,200 by the first half of the second day at the summit with many companies showing investment intentions in Gujarat.

But since many of the MoU partners are yet to identify the land and project specifications, it will take a long time for the investments to come through, said a delegate.
