Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) and International Academy of Computer Graphics (IACG) signed a memorandum of understanding for offering courses on multimedia/animation.

The courses to be offered are graduation, post-graduation and finishing school programme in multimedia.

Dr D.N. Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, JNTU, said on the occasion that India could access less than one per cent of the global market for multimedia solutions. “This kind of university and industry collaborative programme will strengthen the career prospects of young aspirants,” he added.

Dr K. Lal Kishore, Rector, JNTU, said animation technology had developed significantly in the last few years with the contributions made by computer graphics, VLSI technology, IC chip design and other allied areas.

“It has huge job potential and can open many opportunities for the younger generations,” he added.

Mr P.V. Swamy, Chairman, IACG, said the academy was an approved institution with State Bank of India, HDFC Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Canara Bank. This will help the students to get education loans.

The objective of the courses is to bridge the gap between education and current demands from the industry by enhancing employability of the multimedia /animation students.

The students will be trained in skills in tune with the industrial/ production requirements, soft skills and live projects by the creative mentors from IACG’s production house, according to a release.
