MUMBAI, Nov. 13

AN international conference on `communications convergence' to be held during December 12-14 will focus on international investment opportunities in the domestic market.

A number of delegates from abroad are expected to participate in the conference, `Communications convergence: The multi-billion Indian opportunity,' to be organised by the Indian Merchants' Chamber.

The President, TMT, Hinduja Group India Ltd, Mr K.V. Seshasayee, said the conference would spotlight the opportunities presented by the telecom sector.

Speaking on behalf of the Raheja group, which has set up an IT park near here, Mr Ravi C. Raheja, said contrary to the widely held view, IT was an ``emerged and not an emerging technology.'' It was up to the Government and the IT players to exploit the opportunities thrown up by the sector, he said.
