Our Bureau

NEW DELHI, June 16

CHINA is a highly complex but profitable economy for companies operating in knowledge-based industries and now is the best time for Indian industries to enter that market.

This has been brought out in a series of survey reports on knowledge-based industries, including IT, biotech and drugs and pharmaceuticals, conducted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on the eve of the visit of the Prime Minister, Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee, to China.

In a statement, the chamber has pointed out that the surveys have been conducted with the objective of better understanding the Chinese market and to identify opportunities for domestic industry wanting to go there.
