TVS Motor posts 3 pc rise in July sales

TVS Motor Company Ltd sold 97,613 vehicles in July 2003, three per cent more than 95,119 sold in July last year.

Motorcycle sales, at 57,227 units, stood four per cent higher than the corresponding previous period's figure.

The sales of TVS Victor have crossed six lakh units.

The recently launched TVS Fiero F2 registered sales of 5,753 units in the month under review.

"The company is steadily ramping up its production to meet the existing demand," a release said.

Sales of TVS Scooty stood at 19,249 units compared to 18,781 units earlier, a growth of two per cent.

The recently launched TVS Scooty Pep sold 5,757 units during the month.

On the exports front, TVS Motor sold 2,084 two-wheelers in July, compared to 1,018 earlier. Moped sales stood at 21,137 units (21,352). "However, the company continues to maintain its market leadership in this segment," the release added.
