Time Warner chief to visit India

Our Bureau

New Delhi , Feb. 16

THE potential of the Indian market place has led to frequent visits by Star Group Chief, Ms Michelle Guthrie. Now, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Time Warner Inc, Mr Richard D. Parsons, is visiting the country to review the Indian operations and strengthen it further.

Company officials have termed the visit as "routine", but did not rule out the possibility of launching new channels in the country. However, the meeting with Zee Telefilms' Chief, Mr Subhash Chandra, has led to speculation of extending the alliance between the two.

Turner International (a Time Warner entity) already has a joint venture with Zee for the distribution business. However, officials of both Zee and Turner ruled out any further equity alliance between the two. Zee Telefilms has been looking at raising additional funds to support the operations.
