Legal NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court today struck down the Andhra Pradesh legislation subcategorising the Scheduled Castes reservation saying such an action is not permissible under the Constitution. A five-judge Constitution Bench, headed by Justice Mr N Santosh Hegde, said micro-classification of reservation was not permissible and hence the Andhra legislation was an invalid law. The Andhra Pradesh government had subdivided the reservation for Scheduled Castes into four categories. This was upheld by the Andhra High Court. - PTI
