Bharti to invest $3.5 billion in 2007-08

NEW DELHI: The leading private sector cellular services provider, Bharti Airtel on Friday announced an investment of $3.5 billion (up to Rs 15,000 crore) in 2007-08 to enhance its telecom network across the country.

"We are planning to add 30,000 base-stations this year, largest anywhere in the world," Bharti Airtel CMD Mr Sunil Mittal said while announcing the financial results. He said the significant investment would also go in expansion of broadband and enterpri se services. - PTI
