KRBL has launched India Gate Classic basmati rice, which is supposed to have extra-fine and extra-long grains. On cooking, the grain reportedly expands to thrice its original length. It is priced at Rs 74 for a 1 kg pack and Rs 365 for a 5 kg pack in Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttaranchal, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkand and Himachal Pradesh. In the other States, it will be priced at Rs 80 for a 1 kg pack and Rs 395 for a 5 kg pack. It claims to be easily digestible.
