Kids apparel brand Gini & Jony shifts creative account

KIDS apparel brand, Gini & Jony, has shifted its creative advertising account from Mudra Communications to SSC&B Lintas in Mumbai.

Speaking to Business Line, Mr Anil Lakhani, Director, Gini & Jony Apparel, said: "We have recently shifted our agencies. Being a national kidswear brand, we needed to have a new agency to give it the right focus.'' The size of the creative account is estimated at Rs 2.25 crore. Gini & Jony continues to do its media-buying directly with clients and has not appointed an AOR as yet.

Launched in 1980, Gini & Jony is a unisex brand catering to both boys and girls in the age group between 2 to 16 years. The product portfolio comprises of t-shirts, shirts, jackets, cargos and jeans for boys and Jamaicans, dungarees, skirts, co-ordinates t-shirts and capris for girls. Its recent addition is Toddlers, a complete range of garments for infants. It is also foraying into new categories to make it a one-stop-shop for kids. The latest addition to Gini & Jony's portfolio is the accessories launch, which comprises of footwear and eyewear collection. Besides, there are plans to launch watches under the same brand in future.

Gini & Jony is also looking at new avenues in the area of a kid's growth. Explains Mr Lakhani, "Today we are looking at the overall growth for kids and have decided to enter into tie-ups with celebrities in the area of drama and dance''.

For instance, the company is hoping to enter into a arrangement with dancing schools of Shiamak Davar and acting schools such as that of Raell Padamsee, whereby discounts could be offered to consumers.
