Mumbai , Feb. 5 RELIANCE Infocomm has launched a wireless data card described as a slim device that can be slipped into the PCMCIA slot of a laptop or other devices for high-speed wireless connectivity to the Internet. The card is priced at Rs. 14,700. The R Connect Data card, which the company says is the first of its kind in the country, is part of the company's R Connect Internet service from Reliance Communications, said a news release. The product's initial five-city launch would make it available in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore. Computing devices would get instant Internet connectivity across the pan-India CDMA 2000 1x network from the ready-to-use card, with the company describing it as a comprehensive wireless connectivity device for people on the move. The card is manufactured by the US-based company, GTRAN Inc, whose mobile handsets too are being endorsed by Reliance Infocomm.
