Coffee Marketing - Promotions & Offers Mumbaiite bags Barista title Our Bureau
Bangalore , Feb. 9 MR Sanjeev Kumar of Mumbai has won the Platinum Trophy at the annual India Barista Championship 2004, organised by The Speciality Coffee Association of India in Bangalore on Monday. He will represent India at the World Barista Championship in Italy. Mr Girish K.S. from Bangalore won the Gold Trophy while Mr Sandesh Dalimbkar from Pune walked away with the silver trophy. The contest, organised by SCAI for the third consecutive year, aims to recognise excellence and skill among the barista community in the country. A barista is a person who prepares coffee in a bar and delights consumers with his brewing capabilities. The winners of India Barista Championship 2004 were judged by a team of jurors including Mr Lary Chalain President, Batdorf & Bronson Coffee Roasters, Washington, Mr Jason Kwon, President, Mr Coffee Co Ltd, Seoul, Mr Mike Ferguson, SCAA, Director (Marketing), Long Beach, California and Ms Tim O' Connor, Owner, Pacific Espresso, the US, among others.
