The Hindu Business Line : DigitalThink to expand facilities in India

DIGITALTHINK India, a 100 per cent subsidiary of the Nasdaq-listed DigitalThink Inc, a e-learning management company, has announced plans to grow the India development centre located here and in Bangalore, according to the Vice-President, Professional Services, DigitalThink Inc, Mr Larry Blair.

He told newspersons that the company's over 400 employees worldwide provide custom developed e-learning solutions to about 560 global clients including 31 Fortune 100 companies.

The India expansion was to leverage the advantages of local talent pool for development work and to provide round the clock maintenance support.

"Since we have begun to grow the India centre, we are now in the process of expanding the overall mandate for this centre. This means, we will ramp up Hyderabad centre to serve as a global development hub cum maintenance centre," Mr Blair said.

The Director of India Business Services, Mr Anjan Ghosh, said the Hyderabad centre was playing a strategic role to global operations of DigitalThink and the investment would be increased over the Rs 10 crore ($2.5 million) already made. The staff strength increased from the present 200.

DigitalThink has so far invested about $50 million in the delivery infrastructure and R&D.
