Strategy Variety - Resorts & Amusement Parks Club Mahindra lines up new services for better experience Our Bureau
Pune , March 18 CLUB Mahindra Holidays has chalked out a roadmap to improve the experience of the members by providing interactive portals, build new resorts and add more destinations. Speaking to newspersons, Mr Arun Nanda, Executive Director and President, Infrastructure Development Sector, Mahindra and Mahindra, said that talks are on with a chain of hotels in the US for the installation of interactive portals in their premises. The company has already applied for the patent for the product and would offer to customers as a license product. When a customer walks into the restaurant, they would be given a password which can be utilised for accessing any kind of information. It could be about flight timings, the best scenic spots or even the best shopping areas. "The portal even provides refreshments in the room as soon as the guests land up, provided it has been requested for." This facility would be made available to non-members too; all they would have to do is to seek the help of hotel staff to give them access for information. On the international scenario, Mr Arun Nanda said that Club Mahindra has three levels of international tie-ups that give the company access to 4,500 sites across the globe. The company has also entered into alliances with other resorts for utilisation of space and has already acquired one floor in an RCI resort in Bangkok that has 12 rooms. "It has gone in for this arrangement as otherwise it would have to invest on everything, including staff and infrastructure." Similar arrangements have been worked out in Kuala Lumpur and the company is in advanced stages of talks in Singapore and Columbia. In Columbia, Club Mahindra is scouting for a plot of land to build resorts. The company is also planning to increase the number of marketing offices and will be launching a marketing office in the US by the end of the year. Currently, it has marketing offices in Dubai and Kuwait. Since the US is a regulated market, Club Mahindra has already incorporated Mahindra Holiday US. As far as the domestic scene is concerned, Coorg would be added on to its list of 14 destinations. This would be operational before Christmas this year. On the financials, Mr Nanda said that the company estimates a turnover of Rs 100 crore by the end of the current fiscal. "We will be achieving breakeven this year after seven years of existence. The company recorded a small profit last year but it is not worth a mention."
