Zensar in shared services pact with PeopleSoft

INDIAN companies keen to power their human resources function and business processes by PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM now have the option to outsource a part or all of these functions to Zensar Technologies.

As part of its BPO initiatives, Zensar Tech has entered into a partnership with PeopleSoft to host these applications for third parties under licence from PeopleSoft.

The initiative marks Zensar Technologies' foray into the Global Shared Services market.

It is also for the first time that PeopleSoft is entering into such a tie-up in the country. Globally, the market for shared services is projected at $60 billion by 2008.

Zensar Tech has bought multiple seat licences from PeopleSoft to host HR applications across all domains.

It will initially target the Indian and gradually the Asia-Pacific region, where the market is expected to grow to $3 billion by 2008.

To expand BPO team by 300

Our Bangalore bureau adds: Zensar Technologies plans to add about 300 people to its business process outsourcing (BPO) operations by the year-end, according to the company's Deputy Chairman and CEO, Mr Ganesh Natarajan.

The company, which at present has about 75 people in its BPO operations, is looking at servicing its clients from two other locations in China and Ireland apart from Pune, Mr Natarajan said. Zensar has a small IT development facility at Shenzen in China and it has a tie-up with an Irish firm. It now services an American client through its Shenzen development facilityThe company has two BPO clients, one each in the US and UK.
