New Delhi , April 29 WITH an aim to garner sales from the cola drinks segment, Rasna, on Thursday, announced that it would spend Rs 10 crore towards setting up two more plants for manufacturing its cola product (available in a powdered form). "We have decided to set up two more plants to meet the increasing demand of our cola product. We plan to spend around Rs 10 crore on the new plants to triple our capacity. The plants would be situated in the northern region as the demand for colas in the region is higher," Mr Piruz Khambatta, Chairman, said. Rasna recently launched Rasna Cola Cola and claims to have sold 150 million glasses in one month, with most of the sales coming from the C and D class towns. The company is targeting to sell one billion glasses of Cola Cola during 2004-05. "This would help us increase our total sales by about 50 per cent in the year. Rasna sells about two billion glasses across various flavours at present," Mr Khambatta said. The company has recently roped in Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor as the brand ambassador for Cola Cola, and is promoting the product as a `healthy drink for the masses'. Rasna claims a share of 93 per cent in the Rs 300-crore soft drink concentrate (SDC) market.
