Hyderabad , June 2 FINDING leaders has become a burning issue in India, particularly in the IT and ITES sectors, according to representatives from leading technology companies and members of the Hyderabad Software Exporters Association (HYSEA). At a meeting hosted by the HYSEA for leadership management, the Regional Head of TCS, Mr Rajesh Nambiar, said that there was a need to distinguish between managers and leaders. "Leadership is needed at every level, and not at the top alone." Mr Shakti Sagar, Managing Director of ADP Wilco and past President of Hysea, said that the relationships in an enterprise should not be limited to employee-employer only and leaders should practise what they preach. Surveys conducted across the world by Gallup using its Q-12 questionnaire consistently scored low on human aspects. Mr Harikumar, Head of Operations of Keane India (Hyderabad), said: "There are three levels in leadership - possessive, process and passion." The President of Hysea, Mr Kedarnath Udiyavar, said that Hysea planned to complement the leadership programme with other initiatives by hosting events.
