Mumbai , June 14 A Pakistani serial may soon be aired on Indian entertainment channels. 7th Sky Entertainment Pvt Ltd, a Pakistani television production house, is in talks with two Indian broadcasters, Zee TV and Sahara Manoranjan - to find a slot for its 52-episode serial titled Ana (The Ego). In the new era of satellite television, this is the first ever television serial which brings together actors from both India and Pakistan. The concept of a serial involving the television industries of the two countries, germinated during a friendly cricket match between television and film stars of India and Pakistan played at Sharjah, said Ms Kunika Sadanand Lall, one of the actresses in the serial and the spokesperson for the Indian participants. "We saw this as one more step towards peace between the two countries," she said. Originally, the series was aimed for Pakistani television. "But once the series was completed, we decided to explore the Indian television scene to reach out to a wider audience," Ms Lall said. "We thought we would air the series either on an Indian television channel, which has its footprint across Pakistan or seek a combination of an Indian channel and a Pakistani channel," she said. Zee TV has a wider footprint that spans across the neighbouring country. The serial, in Urdu, has a very popular Pakistani television artiste, Humayun Saeed. The other actors involved are Nausheen Ali Sardar (of Kkusum), Kunika, Parikshit Sahani, Sheela David and Aamna Sharif. The series was directed by a well-known Pakistani name, F. Suleiman. Humayun Saeed, according to Ms Lall, is a hugely sought out television actor and producer in Pakistan. "Unlike in India, where celluloid stars are popular, in Pakistan television actors assume a position larger than their counterparts in films," she added. The story of this serial revolves around the egoistical nature of people. If negotiations go off well, the serial would be on air in a month or two.
