Mixed trend in rubber prices

THE physical rubber prices showed a mixed trend on Monday. RSS 4 declined to Rs 66.50 against Rs 67 on Friday. While selling from certain traders at higher levels coupled with strong buyers' resistance induced weakness on sheet rubber and ungraded rubber, the other grades remained steady in the absence of trading interest.

The rubber futures turned weak on Monday. The near month July delivery was quoted at Rs 65 (Rs 65.51) per kg, August at Rs 61.60 (Rs 62.17), September at Rs 59.35 (Rs 60.14) and October at Rs 58.50 (Rs 58.77) for RSS 4.The volumes were moderate.

At Bangkok , RSS 3 improved to Rs 62.49 from Rs 61.94 a kg. The TOCOM July futures for RSS 3 closed at 159.2 yen (158 yen) a kg on Friday.

The spot market rates per kg on Monday were as follows: RSS 4 Rs 66.50 (Rs 67), RSS 5 Rs 62.50 (Rs 62.50), Ungraded Rs 61.50 (Rs 62), ISNR 20 Rs 58 (Rs 58) and Latex 60% Rs 48 (Rs 48.50).
