RK Marbles to expand capacity

RAJASTHAN-BASED RK Marbles is in expansion mode.

Talking to mediapersons, the Director, Mr Ravindra S. Mohnot, said the company, with a current production capacity of 12.5 lakh tonnes per annum, proposes to increase capacity by 35 per cent. The total capacity is spread across its three quarries at Morwad, Dharmeta (both in Rajasthan) and Majoli in Madhya Pradesh.

Mr Ravindra said the Majoli quarry would also be the site for its latest offering, the Wonder Marble. The marble comes in four offerings of milky opal, pink pearl, garnet rush and jasper jazz. The marble is cheaper, atRs 95 to Rs 250, compared with Italian marble, which costs between Rs 300 and Rs 600. The company estimates a 30 per cent increase in sales.

RK Marbles achieved a turnover of Rs 164 crore for the fiscal ended March 2003 and is estimating a turnover of Rs 215 crore for the current fiscal. Its revenues are split between white marble and wonder marble, with the former contributing 70 per cent.
