AKC group to invest in Kerala

THE New Delhi-based AKC group of companies has announced that it will invest in Kerala's education and business sectors.

Addressing a press conference in the city today, Dr Ashok K. Chauhan, Chairman, AKC group, and founder President Amity group of educational institutions, said the organisation's investments in Kerala are likely to be in areas such as marine biotechnology, nanotechnology, herbal products and health tourism.

Besides, the organisation also plans to enter the education, training and research sectors, he added.

Also on the cards is a `centre for international studies and research' based in Thiruvananthapuram. This institution will study various aspects of international relations and will also provide consultancy services on a range of issues.

Meanwhile, the State Government has set up a committee under the leadership of the Chief Secretary to prepare a detailed report on investment options available to the Amity organisation.
