Public Sector Banks `Corporation Bank, a laboratory for innovative banking' Our Bureau
Mangalore , Dec. 10 CORPORATION Bank is a laboratory for innovative banking to which the industry looks with great expectations, according to its former Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Cherian Varghese. Responding to the felicitations at a farewell function arranged in his honour by the bank's executives and staff members on his appointment as the Chairman and Managing Director of Union Bank of India here on Friday, he said, "Corporation Bank is a people-centric bank where everybody enjoys working and that is the secret of its success." Speaking on the occasion, Mr P.K. Gupta, Executive Director, said that the bank has made significant strides in technology under the leadership of Mr Varghese. "As a result, the bank is in a position to face the stiff competition in the market with a host of technology-aided services and products," he said. The bank has improved its reach across the country with a network of 765 branches and 765 ATMs. Its ATM network, he said, is the second largest among the public sector banks.
