New Delhi , April 5

DEDICATED to news and infotainment, `Channel 7' from the Dainik Jagran stable is hoping to reach out to 28 million households in the first month of operations.

As part of this, it is also available on Zee's DTH platform Dish TV.

According to Mr Siddhartha Gupta, Director, Jagran TV, "A huge untapped market awaits compelling and analytical news programmes. Our research has brought to light the need for quality non-fiction infotainment and we are concentrating a lot of our efforts in this direction. Channel 7 will also actively promote appointment viewing. Time band-specific programmes are built into the weekly programme schedule to empathise with audience-viewing patterns. With Channel 7, we will bring to viewers some truly innovative, non-fiction content, with distinct Indian flavour."

Mr Sanjay Gupta, Editor & CEO, Jagran Group, said, "Our aim is to figure among the top three-television news channels in the first year of operations and then slowly but surely move towards the No. 1 position. We believe in winning the loyalty of audiences by beaming superior and innovative content in our effort to achieve the leading position. The attention is on high production quality and credible unique content."
