Mumbai , April 11

JET Airways India Ltd has announced that it will hike its domestic air fares by 12 per cent from April 15 on account of the 18-per cent price increase in aviation turbine fuel (ATF) over March.

The ATF component for the company is around one third of the airline's operating cost.

In addition to an increase in the normal, economy and business class fares, there will be a proportional increase in other fare levels such as return excursion, point to point, check, apex and night saver fares, Jet said in a notice to the Bombay Stock Exchange. "Confirmed tickets issued on or before April 14 will be honoured for travel at the pre-revised fare for the ticket itinerary, only within the validity of the ticket. Tickets issued on or reissued on or after April 15 will be at the revised fares, irrespective of the dates of travel,'' Jet said.
