UCO Bank close to deal on core banking solution

L.N. Revathy

Coimbatore , May 30

UCO Bank plans to deploy core banking solution.

The bank's Chairman and Managing Director, Mr V. Sridhar, told Business Line: "This will be our major initiative this year. We are close to finalising the deal. The details will be known in the first week of July". Speaking on the sidelines of the exporters/textile sector customers' meet in Tirupur on Sunday, he said the bank also had another proposal independent of core banking solution, in the anywhere, anytime banking space. This should be in place by September, he added.

While conceding that in the changed environment employees will have to be re-skilled and familiarised, Mr Sridhar added the bank had created a platform for continuous dialogue with them.
