Apollo Tyres suspends operations

Our Bureau

NEW DELHI: The management of Apollo Tyres Ltd (ATL) said on Tuesday that it has "temporarily" suspended operations at its Limda plant (Vadodara) from Tuesday.

This has been done on account of "strike" resorted to by one section of trade unions in the factory, according to a communiqué sent by the company to the National Stock Exchange and the Bombay Stock Exchange.

When contacted, company officials said that they expected the operations at the Limda plant to be resumed over the next few days and declined to go into matters such as loss of production or reason behind the strike.
