Outlook Hind Sanitaryware to expand capacity Our Bureau
Hyderabad , June 3 HINDUSTAN Sanitaryware and Industries Ltd (HSIL), which registered a turnover of Rs 333 crore for 2004-05, has chalked out plans to double its turnover in three years. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Mr Sandip Somany, Joint Managing Director of HSIL, said expansion of its Bibinagar plant (near Hyderabad) and retail efforts would help the company achieve the target. Mr Somany was in the city for the launch of the company's first Hindware Arcade that housed middle and high-end range bath and kitchen solutions. The company was expanding the Bibinagar plant's capacity from 12,000 tonnes to 18,000 tonnes. The expansion project, being taken up at a cost of Rs 26.5 crore, would be completed by November. "This will take the total capacity to 32,000 tonnes," he said. HSIL has a 14,000-tonne capacity plant in Haryana. He said the company enjoyed a market share of 35.5 per cent in the Rs 600-crore sanitaryware market. On HSIL's retail plans, Mr Somany said the company would set up three more Hindware Arcades this fiscal. These would come up at Chennai and Mumbai. The company, which also promoted `Boutiques', would have 10 more such outlets this year, taking the total to 30. While Arcade housed only Hindware products, Boutiques would also have products in the non-competitive range that complemented Hindware products.
