Hinoday bags Denso award

HINODAY, a Pune-based manufacturer of parts for the automobile and electronic industry, has been awarded the `Regional Co-operation Award-2005' by the Japanese car parts manufacturer, Denso Corporation.

A company statement said that it is the first Indian company and one of the nine international suppliers selected for the award out of 1,200 suppliers of Denso worldwide.

The award was presented by Denso President and CEO, Mr K. Fukaya, to Mr Sudheer Tiloo, Managing Director of Hinoday, at a suppliers' convention held in Nagoya, Japan.

Hinoday supplies ceramic magnets, which are used in motors for cars, and magnetos for two-wheelers to Denso in India and Thailand.

The award was presented to the company in recognition of its contribution in the areas of quality, cost, and delivery and partnering in the rapid new product development, the release said.

The release added that the company supplies magnets for eight out of ten vehicles produced in India.

The company's sales for the year 2004-05 was Rs 220 crore, of which exports accounted for Rs 51 crore.
