AUROBINDO Pharma Ltd (APL) has announced that the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) has approved its Amoxicillin tablets 500 mg and 875 mg and Amoxicillin capsules 250 mg and 500 mg.

In a press release here, APL termed it as an important milestone since it is the first product approval received from the company's dedicated formulation unit-XII in Bachupally here, which manufactures Betalactam formulations.

The company said until now only product approvals from unit-III were contributing to the US formulations business. The company would now be able to market the product with immediate effect. The market opportunity for the current approval is estimated at around $100 million, the company said.
