Zee Tele Q3 net dips 64%

ZEE Telefilms Ltd has reported a 64 per cent decline in its third quarter profit after tax at Rs 31.03 crore for its consolidated operations.
Investments in programming and marketing impacted profits.
Total income for the group moved up to Rs 240.16 crore from Rs 179.1 crore in the year-ago period.
The board has co-opted Sir Gulam Noon as an Additional Director of the company.
"Over the last few quarters, we gave focused attention to Zee TV, the flagship channel and invested across genres of programming including soaps, musical shows, comedy shows etc. The efforts have yielded positive results, with Zee TV now firmly placed at No. 2 in the general entertainment category and showing good upward momentum,'' the company said in a news release quoting its Chairman, Mr Subhash Chandra.
In the third quarter, advertisement revenue was Rs 169.8 crore, up by 12.3 per cent. Subscription revenue was Rs 175.1 crore, up by 7.8 per cent.
Shares of Zee Telefilms moved up by Rs 5.90 to Rs 164.55 on the BSE.
