Goa woos call centre cos

THE Goa Chief Minister, Mr Pratapsingh Rane, has said the Government is encouraging IT industries and also providing required infrastructure for setting up such industries in the State.

Mr Rane was addressing the delegates at the `Goa BPO destination annual seminar, 2006' organised by Mike Jackson BPO, a call centre business company at Agassaim in South Goa. Mr Francis Silveira, MLA and Mr Nitin Kunkolienkar, President, Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industries, were also present.

The BPO, which operates call centres in New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and other metropolitan cities in the country, intends to promote Goa as a BPO destination which will give boost to telecom infrastructure, education institutions, micro financing programme, etc., and create huge job opportunities in call centre service sector, said Mr Mike Jackson, Proprietor, Mike Jackson BPO.
