BPCL sets up POL depot in Kanpur

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) has constructed its petroleum oil lubricant (POL) depot in Kanpur. The new depot was inaugurated by Mr Ashok Sinha, Chairman and Managing Director, BPCL, at a ceremony held in the depot premises near Bhaunti village.

Mr Sinha said, "With the setting up of this depot, BPCL is now fully equipped to meet the market demand for high-quality products and contribute significantly to the economic growth of Uttar Pradesh."

The depot, which has been put up at a cost of Rs 3,185 lakh, caters to 80 petrol and diesel retail outlets, which were so far fed from the Panki Despatch Unit. The retail outlets, which are currently being fed from Amousi (Lucknow), shall also be attached to the new depot in the course of time, he said. The depot will handle all the latest grades of POL products, meeting both the BS-II and Euro-III standard specifications as well as BPCL's premium products such as speed and hi-speed diesel.
