TRAI paper on broadband services

Our Bureau

New Delhi , May 25

In a bid to accelerate the growth of broadband services, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has issued a consultation paper to suggest ways to improve the quality of broadband services.

"The authority has noted that along with the increase in the number of customers, the numbers of consumer complaints pertaining to broadband services are also increasing. A need is, therefore, felt for addressing the quality of service issues for broadband service. As a first step in this regard, TRAI proposes to lay down the benchmarks for quality of service standards for broadband, based on the international practice and also through short time consultation with major stakeholders," said a press release.
