Outlook VVF eyeing Rs 1,000-cr turnover in 2 years Arushi Sen
Fact file During 2005/2006, the company had reported a turnover of Rs 675 crore. Now VVF has its own brands Doy, Jo and Shiff soaps. Exports account for one-third of the company's revenue.
Taloja, Maharashtra, July 20 VVF Ltd, a leading oleochemicals manufacturer, is looking at a Rs 1,000-crore turnover and hopes to achieve it in two years on the back of strong demand in the domestic as well as the export market. During 2005-06, the company had reported a turnover of Rs 675 crore.
Fatty acids
The company said that it has become one of the leading manufacturer of fatty acids in India with the setting up of a new export-oriented unit in Taloja, Maharashtra in 2004. The unit at Taloja has a capacity of 2.5 lakh tonnes per annum.
Thrust on Export
Export is a major thrust area for VVF. The US hospitality industry is the top destination and VVF is one of the leading exporters of guest amenities in the hospitality industry. The company's geographical reach extends to Canada, Australia, the UAE and Africa. The company is looking at countries such as Russia and those in the West Asian region. Exports account for one-third of the company's revenue. "Our aim is to serve the most demanding customers. We want to target all the end-users in the world," said Mr B.R. Gaikwad, Executive Director, Oleochemicals, VVF Ltd.
"Earlier the company was known as a contract manufacturer. Now we have our own brands," said Mr Gaikwad.
