The President, Mr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, will inaugurate Infocom 2006 Conference-cum-Exhibition, an annual exposition on information & communications technology (ICT) that is jointly organised by Businessworld and Nasscom. This year, the event will be held from December 6 to 10, and CeBIT of Germany will attend it as "Infocom Partner".

Presenting a curtain raiser on Infocom 2006, Mr K.K. Mohapatra, General Manager-IT Business of ABP Pvt Ltd — the publisher of Businessworld — said there would be a European Pavilion that would be spread over 500 sq metres of space. About 30-40 European companies are expected to participate . While the theme is "Innovate to Differentiate", the flavour of the European Pavilion would be "Meet India for your Business". Around 150,000 footfalls are expected .
