Exposure to global best practices will help domestic cos access right tech

Coimbatore , Aug. 20

In an ever-increasing digitalised business environment, information technology and manufacturing sectors will have unique opportunity to work in concert to reduce costs and improve supply chain efficiency, the two key imperatives to stay ahead in global competitiveness, according to Mr S. Ramadorai, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.

Combining these two will be the next logical step for the Indian companies working with the MNCs/global partners in designing their products/services for the world market. With these, the global best practices in product development, manufacture and supply chain management would get deployed in the Indian context, enhancing the global footprint for Indian companies, he said.

Mr Ramadorai was speaking here at an interactive session organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry, Coimbatore.
