Educomp up on Govt order hopes

K.S. Badri Narayanan

Educomp Solutions has been gaining strongly on the bourses. However, on Wednesday, the stock closed weak at Rs 653.75. The stock gained 22.9 per cent in a month's time. According to market participants, the stock has been on investors' radar due to State Governments' move to introduce e-education in a big way.

Recently, the company announced that Uttar Pradesh Government awarded the contract of computer education in 101 Govt and Govt-aided schools to it. Market talk has it that the company is likely to bag such contracts from other State Governments too. The company is also doing well on its retail and other segments, which cater to educational aids and CD-ROMs.
