SKM Egg: Price hike to impact?

Market participants expect some downward pressure in the near term on the stock price of SKM Egg Products. According to them, the National Egg Coordination Committee on Monday decided to hike the egg prices by five paise to 1.55 following higher demand in Kerala and Tamil Nadu markets, which could impact the company's operating margin, as egg is the main raw material. The company's product range include egg yolk powder, egg albumin powder, whole egg powder and bakery mix range.

The stock dropped 3.20 per cent on Tuesday to Rs 24.20 and 4.16 per cent over a week.
