Events Gitex to host Nasscom meet, Indosoft expo Our Bureau
Hyderabad, Dec. 22 Gitex Hyderabad, the flagship event of information technology and communication, hosted by the IT Department and the Dubai World Trade Centre, will concurrently host a Nasscom meet on animation and gaming and Indiasoft 2007. The IT event, which is being hosted for the last five years, has managed to attract an increasing number of companies and as per early indications, the event slated for January 9-11 will have about 400 participants and is expected to host over 15,000 visitors, up from 138 companies and about 10,000 visitors last year. Providing details of the event, the State Principal Secretary, Ms Ratna Prabha, in a statement said the event has been enlarged to cover a quite a few other related events. In addition to hardware show, software exhibitions have been included and conference tracks would include investors meet, technology summit, conference on ITES and a meet of HYSEA (Hyderabad Software Exporters Association).
Main objectives
One of the main objectives of the event is to serve as an interactive platform for the growing small and medium enterprise segment in the country. Some of the companies that have confirmed participation include Satyam, Wipro, ECIL, Rapiscan, Microsoft, HSBC, Cognizant, Polaris, Deloitte and a large contingent of small and medium companies. As a part of the Government's support to this event, the State has exempted payment of value added tax for the purchase of computers, laptops and other entertainment gadgets at the Computer ShoppeThis year, IndiaSoft is an added attraction. The event being hosted by the Electronics and Software Export Promotion Council in association with the ITC department. The event has been positioned to serve small and medium enterprises and participants from some 40 countries are set to participate.
