Online Marketing Info-Tech - E-Commerce & E-Business Industry & Economy - Automobiles States - West Bengal eBay Motors upbeat on eastern region Our Bureau Kolkata, Nov. 2 eBay Motors India Pvt Ltd, the online B2B motors marketplace of eBay portal, is bullish on pushing up sales volume in eastern India, which has emerged as the fastest growing market for it. The region is expected to account for 25 per cent of the online transactions through eBay Motors India within the next two-three years. Currently, the region accounts for around 15 per cent of its online transactions. Addressing newspersons here, Mr Amit Bhartiya, Director of the company, said that while West Bengal had emerged as the fastest growing region for all categories of vehicles, West Bengal, Assam and Orissa had together emerged as the largest hub for light commercial vehicles (LCVs). He said eastern India has been a witness to regular online trade in heavy industrial vehicles, such as tippers, loaders, and so on. . A large number of fleet operators from West Bengal, Jharkhand and Orissa regularly buy and sell LCVs and HCVs. High-value products such as trucks, trailers and tractors are regularly traded online. Dealers participate from remote locations like Midnapore, Burdwan, Berhampur and Keonjhar, among other places. Pointing out that eBay Motors India has a large community of over 10,000 dealers located across 250 cities and towns, he said between August 2002 and now, a total of 150,000 vehicles have been transacted online.
