The H&B Stores CEO, Mr Peter Baker, and the Head (Sourcing, Buying and Merchandising), Mr Graeme Fraser, at a press conference in the Capital on Tuesday. Our Bureau New Delhi, Dec.4 FMCG major Dabur India on Tuesday unveiled the brand name — ‘new-u’ — for its H&B Stores, a retail venture where beauty, health and wellness products will be on offer. The first H&B Store is slated to open in the Capital next month. “By the end of the fiscal we will have six ‘new-u’ outlets in the Delhi NCR region and later expand to other markets. By 2008-09 we plan to add 50 stores. By 2009-10, we will take the number of stores to 160,” said Mr Peter Baker, CEO, H&B Stores, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dabur India. For the venture, Dabur will make an initial investment of Rs 140 crore. The company is targeting a turnover of Rs 1,000 crore by 2010 from the ‘new-u’ brand, Mr Baker said. “Our stores will be different as we will provide our consumers an international quality store environment and a product range incorporating the global look and feel,” said Mr Graeme Fraser, Head (Sourcing, Buying and Merchandising), H&B Stores. He also said that 70 per cent of the sourcing will be domestic, including 10-12 per cent will comprise a private label of the store which will be manufactured through the outsourcing route.
