F-Secure, Sify enter into partnership


Sify customers will be offered F-Secure’s entire suite of security solutions that include proactive protection, parental control, as well as data security protection from phising, viruses, spyware and trojans.

Hyderabad, Jan. 10 Finnish security technology services provider F-Secure Corporation today announced partnership with Internet and broadband services provider Sify to offer the latter’s customers data security solutions.

Through this partnership, F-Secure and Sify will offer customers F-Secure’s entire suite of security solutions that include proactive protection, parental control, as well as data security protection from phising, viruses, spyware and trojans.

The Vice-President of F-Secure, Asia Pacific, Mr Jari Heinonen, said that F-Secure already partners with telecom services providers such as Airtel, Reliance Infocomm and BSNL in some circles and is in the process of strengthening its presence in the Indian market where cooperation with Sify is critical.

There are more than 5,00,000 viruses and the number keeps increasing and the types of threat too changing. For an average broadband user, it is impossible to keep track of changes in the Internet world and yet ensure the same level of protection, he said.

The President of Consumer Infrastructure and Operations, Sify, Mr Naresh Ajwani, said that over 2.1 lakh broadband users and over a million Internet users can now avail themselves of enhanced protection and timely updates that ensure that their systems and data are well protected. This comes for a daily charge of Rs 2.

F-Secure has signed up with 162 enterprises in India and expects to broaden its reach to cover other personal end-point devices such as mobile phones.
