Alliances & Joint Ventures Star India ties up with Digital Entertainment Our Bureau New Delhi, Jan.14 The new broadcast distribution joint venture, established by Star India and Digital Entertainment Networks (DEN) on Monday, may soon announce Network 18 Group and other niche channels as its first non-Star clients. The equal joint venture will be an exclusive distributor for all channels distributed by STAR India domestically across cable, DTH, IPTV, HITS and MMDS (video for mobile through wireless broadband). According to sources, the new entity will talk to Network 18 which would be a preferred prospective customer. Network 18’s Managing Director, Mr Raghav Behl, owns 22 per cent stake in cable network, DEN. According to Mr Sameer Manchanda, Promoter and Chairman, who holds 60 per cent stake in DEN, the joint venture will also be an “independent platform that would invite other channels to come on board.” More Stories on : Alliances & Joint Ventures | Radio/TV
