Enterprise services drive Sify revenues

Our Bureau

Chennai, Jan. 24 Driven by the enterprise segment growth, Sify Technologies Ltd has reported revenues of Rs 151.25 crore for the quarter ended December 2007, Mr M.P. Vijay Kumar, Chief Financial Officer of the company, said in a release. “Revenues, EBITDA and net profit have all shown growth based on operations on the back of aggressive growth in enterprise services,” he said.

Owing to demand from enterprise segment customers, the company is investing an undisclosed amount on increasing connectivity and hosting services. The company will build a new data centre in Mumbai, besides planning new ones in Delhi and Chennai.

Sify won five deals in the enterprise solutions area and entered into alliances with Saba (a learning management solutions provider) and an Indian system integrator for white-labelled data centre hosting services, the release said.

In the e-learning space, it bagged two deals collectively worth $2.6 million, which will be executed over the next 9 months. The company is setting up an innovation lab for research and development of futuristic learning products and services that will be operational by March 2008.

Consumer biz plans

Sify is restructuring its consumer businesses into a single integrated platform for access and delivery of multiple content services. “We will re-launch the consumer business when ready to scale our revenues,” Mr Raju Vegesna, board Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Sify, said.

The company ended the quarter with a cash balance of Rs 165.5 crore ($42 million) post capital expenditure of Rs 23.40 crore ($5.94 million).
