Promotions & Offers Variety - Sports Reebok Cricket Star talent hunt announced
Former India cricket coach, Greg Chappell, unveiling the Reebok Cricket Star trophy in Mumbai on Tuesday. Our Bureau Mumbai, March 4 Emerging Media, which owns the Indian Premier League’s Jaipur franchise, has announced the start of its Reebok Cricket Star Twenty20, the second series of its cricket talent hunt show to be aired on SET Max. The selection procedure will be conducted in the eight Indian Premier League cities by the former India cricket coach Greg Chappell. The Cricket Star Academy, based at Jaipur, will provide an academy stint to those chosen by Greg Chappell. Close to 8,000 Web site applications and 600 to 700 applications through talent scouts from more than 500 towns have been received. “We are looking for some fairly specific talent, athletic and able to think and perform in the shorter version of the game,” said Mr Chappell. The winner and runners-up of the talent hunt will get a chance to be a part of the IPL team of Jaipur, Rajasthan Royals in 2009. Last year’s winner, Dinesh Salunke will be a part of the Jaipur team in IPL 2008. “Whether we actually play him or not, depends on the development of his talent. But he will definitely be a part of the team and get the same exposure,” said Mr Fraser Castellino, Chief Executive Officer, Emerging Media.
