Everonn Systems forays into book publishing

Launches new book on managing investments

Our Bureau

Chennai, April 9 Everonn Systems India Ltd, an education service provider, has forayed into book publishing through Everonn Publishing, a division floated for the purpose. Recently, it launched its maiden title — Managing Your Investments, written by Dr A. Besant C. Raj.

Former SEBI Chairman, Mr M. Damodaran, released the book and Mr R. Kannan, former Director of IFMR (Institute for Financial Management and Research) received the first copy.

On the release, Mr Damodaran said the book is very relevant in the present context as there are a lot of young people with surplus income which can be invested. Books like this will certainly fill the void of lack of enough advisory bodies in the country to guide potential investors on investment options. No investment is absolutely risk-free, be it Government institution or non-Government institution. It’s only a question of relatively better option. “However, at the same time, risk is not dangerous. Where risk contents of a particular investment option suit the investor’s risk appetite, there’s a perfect marriage,” he said.

Earlier welcoming the gathering, Mr Vinay Kumar, Dean, Knowledge Resource Development and Research (KRDR), Everonn Systems, noted that financial literacy is very low in our country. Regulatory bodies such as the Reserve Bank of India, Securities and Exchange Board of India, etc are emphasising the need for financial literacy and this book will be an eye opener for the common man.

Speaking on the occasion, the author of the book Dr Raj said, “This book introduces, in a lucid form, the various investment opportunities, their risks and returns taking into account time and value of money.” According to Mr Kumar, Everonn proposes to publish six to 10 books a year.
