Radio/TV Variety - Sports News broadcasters settle footage issues with IPL, Sony Our Bureau New Delhi, April 18 The News Broadcasters Association (NBA) has settled issues with the organisers and broadcaster of the DLF Indian Premier League over accreditation and footage use of the cricket event. “We are happy with the discussions held with Sony and the DLF Indian Premier League, it was critical in our mutual interests to find a solution to all the issues so that our viewers are able to enjoy the cricket extravaganza and for that I thank Mr (Lalit) Modi and Mr (Kunal) Dasgupta for their willingness to amicably discuss and resolve all issues,” said Mr Narayan Rao, Group CEO, NDTV, in a release. Along with Mr Rao, the NBA’s members, Mr Chintamani Rao, CEO, Times Now with his Editor-in-Chief, Mr Arnab Goswami; TV Today’s News Director, Mr Q. W. Naqvi, and the NBA’s Secretary-General, Ms Annie Joseph, met with DLF IPL’s Chairman and Commissioner, Mr Lalit Modi, and COO, Mr Sundar Raman, recently in Mumbai to “amicably settle issues”. Also present were Mr Kunal Dasgupta, Sony Entertainment Television’s CEO, Mr Rohit Gupta, President, Network Sales and Revenue Management, and Mr Venu Nair, CEO, World Sports Group, which won the broadcasting bid for the league cricket with SET. “We firmly believe that media is an integral stakeholder in the promotion and success of sports, including a concept like the DLF Indian Premier League. I am glad that the issues relating to footage and accreditation for the News and Current Affairs Broadcasters, have been resolved amicably,” said Mr Lalit Modi, in the NBA statement.
