Advertising Govt bans Lux Cosy ad New Delhi, June 10 The Government has found the Lux Cosy undergarment advertisement featuring “semi-clad male and female models and a dog” “indecent, vulgar and suggestive”. In an official announcement today, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has advised television channels to adhere to the advertisement codes. Any future airing of the advertisement now deemed indecent, vulgar and suggestive would be considered violative of Rule 7 (8) of the Advertising Cod e prescribed under the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act, 1995 and rules framed there under, said a Ministry statement. The advertisement has been banned on all broadcasting platforms with immediate effect. The Government has advised all channels to be more careful in future in selection of content of advertisements. — Our Bureau More Stories on : Advertising
