Cinema Animated film on Santa Claus Thiruvananthapuram, Nov. 13 Singapore-based Toonz Entertainment Pte Ltd, US-based Hyde Park Entertainment and US-based G7 Animation will together produce a CGI animated feature film on Santa Claus. The film, The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus, is based on the eponymous book by L. Frank Baum who is also the creator of The Wizard of Oz. It chronicles the life of Santa Claus from infancy to adulthood, "ultimately revealing the origin of the world's best-loved Christmas legend," says a Toonz press release. The film will be produced at the studios of Toonz Animation India, a subsidiary of Toonz Entertainment Pte Ltd, in Technopark at Thiruvananthapuram. Preproduction work on the project is currently on and production is expected to start later this month, the release states. The film is scheduled to be released during Christmas 2010. Hyde Park Entertainment will distribute the film internationally and will share North American rights with G7 Animation. - Our Bureau
